Abstract


THE EFFECT OF THE MEMORISATION OF VERSES OF THE QURAN WITH MODAL APPROACH IN THE CONCEPT OF RIGHT RECITATION
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of recitation with maqam in the memorisation of verses of the Quran. The sample group of this research was formed sixty two Marmara University Faculty of Theology at second grade students who have participated in the research voluntarily. The experimental and control groups were constituted randomly. The experimental group listened to the recitation of Quran which was performed with maqam and was asked to memorise the certain verses. Whereas the control group listened to the recitation of the same verses, which was performed without any maqam and was asked to memorise the verses. The recitations performances of participants were evaluated by the researcher and data were analyzed statistically. The results indicate that the experimental group who listened to the recitation with maqam has better results in memorisation of the verses than the control group. Based on this finding, it was concluded that the recitation with maqam has a positive effect in the memorisation of verses of the Quran.
