Abstract

INVESTIGATION OF STUDIES ON SOCIAL LOAFING BEHAVIOR
The transition to mass production in the sense of goods and services has necessitated the existence of workshops that are prone to group work and can show individual performance in team work. Social loafing behavior tends to decrease the performance of employees in team work compared to their performance at individual work times. In this study, three databases, Dergipark, National Thesis Center and Web of Science, were used to search informations and 17 studies were included after applied exclusion criteria. Individuals exhibiting social loafing behaviors have developed defensive mechanisms show that they behave in the same way as other individuals who exhibit this behavior in the group or because they think they exist. The decrease in the performance of the individuals within the group, the high motivation of the employees and the effective communication conditions within the group are among the factors that may cause this behavior to be less exposed.
