Abstract


INVESTIGATION OF JOB SATISFACTION AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT OF INDIVIDUALS WORKING AT PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATES OF YOUTH SERVICES AND SPORTS IN TERMS OF SOME VARIABLES
This study was carried out to determine the job satisfaction and organizational commitment of individuals working at Provincial Directorates of Youth Services and Sports in terms of some variables. The research population consisted of personnel working at Provincial Directorates of Youth Services and Sports in Burdur, Isparta, Denizli, Izmir, Afyon, Uşak, Antalya, Nevşehir, and Balıkesir, and the sample group consisted of a total of 301 individuals selected from this personnel by the random sampling method. In the study, the data were obtained from written sources and by the questionnaire method. As a questionnaire, the “Organizational Commitment Scale” was used to determine the organizational commitment levels of the participants, and the “Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire” (MSQ) was used to determine job satisfaction. The descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis H, and Spearman’s correlation analyses were applied to the data obtained in an appropriate statistical program. In statistical procedures, the participants’ gender, age, and educational status were taken as variables, and 0.05 was accepted as the significance level for the determination of intervariable differences. As a result of the assessment of the data obtained; It was determined that the employees had high job satisfaction and organizational commitment total score averages, there was no significant difference in the comparative statistical analysis values performed by the gender, age, and education variables in the job satisfaction and organizational commitment sub-dimensions (p>0.05), but there was a significant difference in the variable of participants’ education in the continuance commitment of the organizational commitment sub-dimension (p<0.05), and that there was a statistically significant relationship between the job satisfaction and organizational commitment levels of the participants in total (p<0.05). As a conclusion, in accordance with the findings obtained within the scope of the study, it can be said that in general, the job satisfaction and organization commitment scores of the employees are above average, the variables of gender, age, and education do not have any significant effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and as the job satisfaction levels of employees increase, their organizational commitment levels will increase in parallel to this.
