Abstract

THE TWO FACES OF CONCEPT OF FREEDOM WITHIN THE ONTOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE
Without doubt, one of the most important concept of modernity is freedom. Interestingly we observe before the modern period this concept was used rarely. What is the reason of not using this concept which has such importance? In this article this question will be answered. For us, the reason of that is that Ancient Greek philosophy has devoloped a metaphysics which doesn’t need freedom. Accordingly, in modern period after eliminating the Ancient one it was started to construct another metaphysics which claimed individual’s freedom. Thus, while eliminated traditional metaphysics, modernity claimed it’s own understanding of metaphysics. In this article it will be revealed how Immanuel Kant and after him German Idealism put the concept of fredoom at the center of metaphycsics which is abovementioned.
