Abstract

URBAN TRANSFORMATION AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC EFFECTS ON THE STRUCTURE IN TURKEY
Urban transformation studies are carried out in our country as in the world. Countries have started urban transformation in the scale of their conditions. The natural and human events experienced cause urban transformation especially in old or rebuilt cities and areas. Especially, it is very old, the opportunity to use is very weak, has caused image pollution, has gone out of its aim, and the region where people can not live, the neighborhood and areas to be re-developed and the environment to be lived to be created or the old property can be called urban transformation. Urban transformation studies have emerged according to physical and human factors. Natural (earthquake, flood, landslide) and humanities (distorted structuring, rapid population growth, migration, political concerns, damage to historical and cultural fabric, change of function, etc.)) events are the most important reasons for urban transformation. In this context, both the reasons and the results of the implementation create social, cultural, historical and economic impacts.
