Abstract


FROM PAST TO PRESENT MOSQUE AND DECORATIONS
Kaaba, the first temple of the earth is a simple structure with its cubic architecture and cover. The mosque built in the Medina by the Prophet was simple with its architecture and functional. Along with the gesture of conquest, the decorations in the places of worship of various civilizations and societies influenced Muslims. After that, he initiated the process of decorating mosques. The holy shrines were not seen only as places of worship, but were showcases of existing beliefs and power. We can see traces of this practice in temples belonging to churches, mosques or different beliefs. The first examples of mosque decoration when VII. and VIII. century built in the Kubbetü’s sahra and Damascus in the Umayya Mosque. Since then, fancy mosques have been built in different climates and geographies of the world.
