Abstract


THE SOCIAL CRITICISM IN ASWANY’S THE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF EGYPT
The writers who written in the modern Egyptian literature inspired by the facts of the century at the end of the social and political processes through the country, sometimes have only identified problems and sometimes they have sought solutions. Therefore, they wrote works under the influence of realism. The novels written under the influence of realism also give the opportunity to identify the social and political elements of the period in terms of sociology. This article studying the social and political situation of the Egypt after the automobile converscany in the novel of Alaa al-Aswany who also widely accepted as a major motivator of the Egyptian Spring. In the Egyptian Automobile Club novel, the writer described the political and cultural profile of Egypt from the Automobile Club which is founded in 1924 as a solution to the needs and problems arising around the automobile. This study aims to reveal the background of political and social criticism in Aswany’s novel.
