Abstract

THE ROLE OF PERSONAL ATTITUDES AND CHARACTERISTICS IN RATIONAL USE OF CREDIT CARDS
Credit cards are indispensable payment instruments in our life. Credit cards for individuals and the economy are useful when used reasonably, and harmful when not used rationally. The purpose of this study is to determine personal attitudes and characteristics that influence the rational use of credit cards. The study is limited to the number of personnel working in public institutions in the city center of Tokat province. The data of study were collected from 368 public employees by face-to-face interview technique. In the study, exploratory factor, regression and variance analysis were used. As the confidence in credit cards increases, credit cards are used more rationally. Spending habits without credit cards directly affect the rational use of credit cards. In addition, credit cards are not used rationally as income level increases.
