Abstract


WHAT DO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS DO TO IMPROVE AWARENESS OF RESPONSIBILITY IN CHILDREN? WHAT CAN’T THEY DO?
It is possible for children to become useful collective individuals, starting with the school, and progressing as graduated from tertiary education. One of the important responsibilities of education is to create positive attitudes in schools, to reinforce them and to ensure the permanence of these behaviors. Responsibility as a trait acquired through education is defined as the fulfillment of tasks in accordance with the age, gender and level of development of the individual, beginning with early childhood. Within the scope of this study, the principle of principles and principles regarding responsibility education were investigated as to whether they were transferred to practice in school education and the responsibility education strategies applied during the education processes of primary school teachers were questioned. For this purpose, face-to-face interviews were conducted with 42 class teachers with different characteristics in terms of school, year of service, age and gender. Research data were obtained through interview form developed by researchers for use in interviews with teachers. The interviews recorded with the aid of the voice recorder were carried out at the schools where the teachers were working and lasted approximately 30 minutes. Teachers were asked what they gave their students various responsibilities, what they learned about responsibility education, what they did, how often they could not, and what they needed. The study data reveals that the teachers chose the most inspiring way and followed an informative way.
