Abstract

THE STRUCTURE OF THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL OF DIVLE VILLAGE ACCORDING TO 1833 POPULATION BOOK
The first census in the Ottoman Empire II. It was built between 1830 and 1831 in Mahmut period. The aim of this census is to determine the military potential of the state and tax resources (especially the determination of taxpayers for the jizya to be taken from non-Muslims). Another aim is to reveal the Muslim and non-Muslim population living in the country. Only male population was counted in this census. After the first general census in 1831, regional or general population censuses were made on different dates such as 1844, 1852, 1856, 1866, 1881/82 and 1905 and the records were kept up to date. In this study, the population book of Divle Village dated 1833 was examined. In the middle of the century, the socio-economic structure of the caves connected to the Divle Village was emphasized. According to the records, in 1833 the Divle Village ve Kureyş-i Kebîr, Start, Çat, Kureyş-i Sağîr and Berendi Köy has 6 houses with the names. Population density is generally located in the center of Divle Village. There is a core family structure throughout the village and there are usually 1-3 men living in households. In our age chart, it is observed that children between 0-4 years old and middle age group between 30-34 years old are intense. Households are mostly farmers and shepherds
