Abstract

EMOTION VALUE IN ANIMAL NAMES: PROVERBS AND İDİOMS
In all languages, there are words that convey emotional elements in the human mind when used. People often use these words in poetry, literature and everyday language; the basis of this is the desire to be effective on the interlocutors they communicate with. In particular, one of the more expressive and effective means of expressing emotions is the use of idioms and proverbs, in which a metaphor is often felt. In the idioms and proverbs, the desire to convey a message to the interlocutors with an allegorical mind is dominant. During the communication process, the names of the animals in the minds of the people involved in the common cultural circle are also used. It is possible to mention two kinds of emotions for words; The value of emotions they gain depending on the context in which they are used, and the value of emotion they awaken in the human mind when they are mentioned in the plain state. Depending on the context of the emotions they gain a temporary feature but when they are lucid, the value of emotions they awaken in the human mind has a permanent feature. So the first is not a lexical unit, the second becomes a lexical unit and it is possible to find them in dictionaries. In this study, the value of emotions in which proverbs and idioms are used, will be handled in a comparative way in the context of dictionaries.
