THE EFFECT OF TOYS USED IN PRESCHOOL EDUCATION ON CHILD’S DEVELOPMENT AREAS

Abstract
The most important thing preschool children do is to play. Children need toys to achieve this most important thing. Toys are in an irreplacable place in children’s life. Toys designed for children have great importance for their development. Children learn to recognize, discover and share thanks to the toys they use whileplaying. In selecting toys for preschool education the age, development stage, interests and needs of child should be taken into consderation. For child, toy is not a goal itself; but an instrument for many goals. All the play materials giving an order to children’s movements, helping them learn various concepts and understand colours, dimension and shapes, improving imagination and creative abilities of them shortly supporting their developments can be identified as toys. Toys are necessary for all children in different age and development stages. Toys suitable for their development stages helps children in gaining self-care abilities and in psychomotor, socio-emotional, cognitive and language developments
