Abstract

Founding fathers of Economics science aimed at making the discipline a hard science like physics. As a result of secularization in Europe, Economics seperated from religion and gained a form like a natural science. The main paradigms of Economics have no close relationship with social factors, especially with religion. However, according to the approach of economic sociology, economies are a part of the social world. Therefore, economic researches should include the missing social structures. Because according to economic sociology, the economic behaviour is always embedded in the social structures. In this study, it is stated that rational belief sytems will increase economic growth rate like a factor of production. And the Beijing Consensus, which is formulated against Neoliberalism in China, is given as an example. China is constructing his Capitalism model by using their local cultural properties and logics. However, secular ethics and Neoclassical policies which are imported from Western World cause a moral crisis in Turkish society. Within this context, this study tries to show that how a sucessful consensus between economy and ethics in Turkish society can be made in order to overcome this moral ciris.
