Abstract

Math studies in the preschool period are oriented towards concept development and are closely related to the concrete experiences of children every day. Children formed with a lego or toy; topics such as pattern, classification, observation, sorting, line drawing, measurement and comparison help children to understand and learn mathematics in the future. In order to understand mathematics, children will be able to see the materials concretely and divide them into objective groups and understand mathematics with mathematical concepts. The study was a qualitative study and the data were collected by interview technique. During the data collection, the main themes were determined and these themes were in the form of a question sentence, and the teachers were asked questions to answer the questions in line with their knowledge. The teachers who participated in the study stated that they were trying to keep the education process more active by preparing concrete materials for children and preparing suitable environment for children. The teachers stated that they could make the math lesson more enjoyable but they had difficulty in finding materials; stated that they sometimes solve this problem by contacting parents and sometimes they solve it with different materials.
