Abstract

Nesnellik olgusu sosyal bilimlerin en tartışmalı konularının başında gelmektedir. Çünkü bu olgu metodoloji tartışmalarının merkezinde yer almaktadır. Çalışmada sosyal bilimlerin ortaya çıkış süreci ve evrensellik kavramıyla ilişkisi sorgulanmış, nesnellik olgusunun alanda ele alınışı incelenmiştir. Sosyal bilimler gerçeği arayışlarında ampirik olarak doğrulanmış bilgi üretme çabasına dayanır. Bu çabanın sacayağını oluşturan nesnellik kavramı, bilginin zamandan bağımsız mı yoksa tarihsel mi olduğu sorusuna bilginin zamandan bağımsız olduğu yanıtını verir. Nesnellik kavramı rasyonelliğin, doğruluğun ve bilimselliğin teminatı olarak kabul edilmekte ve bilimsel çalışmalara meşruiyet kazandırmaktadır. Nesnellik kavramı, kültüre ve bağlama içkin olan sosyal bilimler açısından, teorik anlamıyla öznenin nesnesine yaklaşması boyutunda sorunludur. Ama bu görece sorun alanın anlam zenginliğinden kaynaklanmaktadır. Nesnelliğe ulaşma kaygısı sosyal bilimler alanında çalışan araştırmacılar için önemli ve değerlidir.

Abstract

Objectivity is one of the most controversial issues in social sciences. Because the objectivity phenomenon is located in the center of methodology debates. In this study, the emergence of social science and it’s relation with the concept of universality has been questioned and how the concept of objectivity has been used in the field is searched. Social sciences try to produce knowledge that is empirically verified in seeking of truth. Objectivity is an important element of this effort, and it answers the question of, is knowledge timeless or historical, objectivity says that, knowledge is timeless. Objectivity is accepted guarantee of rationality and truth, and it does also bring legitimacy to scientific studies. In terms of social sciences the concept of objectivity is problematic. But this relatively problem occurs due to the richness of the field. The anxiety of objectivity is useful and important for scholars who work in social science.
