Abstract
Osmanlı Devleti döneminde İslâmiyet öncesi Türk tarihi çoğunlukla ihmâl edilmişti. Bunun yerine İslâm tarihi ile bizatihî Osmanlı tarihi vurgulanmıştı. Genç cumhuriyet, okullarda tarih derslerine tam zıttı bir anlayış edinerek bu defa Osmanlı günleriyle ilgili sayfaların önemini yadırgadı. Zaman içinde; tedricen; artık Osmanlı’nın haşmetli devirlerini hiç de inkâr etmeyen, daha olgun bir senteze ulaşıldı.

Abstract
During the Ottoman times Turkish history before Islam was mostly neglected. Instead, Islamic history as well as Ottoman History itself was emphasized. The young republic assumed a thoroughly reversed approach to history courses in schools; this time knocking down the value of the pages dealing with the Ottoman days. With time and incrementally; a more mature synthesis was acquired, which by no means denies the glorious Ottoman eras in history, at all.
