Abstract
Şair ve yazarlar kültürü besleyen ve kuşaktan kuşağa aktarılmasında görevli en önemli unsurlardır. Onlar, yaşadıkları dönemin sosyal ve kültürel açıdan aynası niteliğindedirler. İçinde bulundukları toplumda yoğrulurlar ve kıvama geldiklerinde artık o toplumun zeminini kuvvetlendirici bir role bürünürler. Söz varlığı çalışmaları bu açıdan bakıldığında, inceleme yapılan şair veya yazarın hayata bakışını, fikir dünyasını, doğal olarak da içinde bulunduğu toplumun kültürünü yansıtmada önemli rol oynamaktadır. Söz varlığı çalışmaları, topluma şair veya yazarın penceresinden bakmaya yardımcı olur. Bu çalışmada şiirleriyle ve şairliğiyle aklımıza şair olarak yer etmiş Arif Nihat Asya'nın farklı bir yönü olan nesirlerinin söz varlığı üzerinde incelemeler ve tespitler yer almaktadır. Öncelikle hayatı hakkında bilgiler verilmiş, sonrasında şair ve yazarın beş nesir kitabı taranarak sıklığı en fazla olan isimler, fiiller, bağlaçlar ve tarihler tespit edilmiştir. İsimler kategorilere ayrılmış; isim ve fillerin sıklığından yola çıkılarak dönemin şartları, şair ve yazarın dünya görüşü hakkında çıkarımlarda bulunulmaya, söz varlığının genel görüntüsüne ulaşılmaya çalışılmıştır.

Abstract
Poets and authors are the fundamental elements that are supposed to enrich culture and hand it down from generation to generation. They are the mirrors of their era, in terms of the social and cultural sides. They are forged through their own society, and when hardened, their role is tostrengthen the foundation of their society. When considered from this point of view, vocabulary studies play a crucial role in understanding the studied author or poet’s outlook on life, world of ideas and, naturally, reflecting the culture of the society in which they are. Vocabulary studies allow us to see the society from the poet’s or author’s point of view. This study includes some examinations and determinations on the proses of Arif Nihat Asya, a different side of him, who engraved in our minds with his poems and themaster poesy. In this study, firstly, some information about the life of Arif Nihat Asya is given, then the most frequent nouns, verbs, conjunctions and dates are revealed by scanning five prose books of our author-poet. The nouns are categorized; on the basis of the frequency of nouns and verbs,it is aimed to make some inferences on the conditions of the era and our poet-author’s perspective on life, and attempted to reach the general overview of his vocabulary.
