Abstract
Çocuk edebiyatı kavramı hem dünya edebiyatı hem de Türk edebiyatı için oldukça yeni sayılabilecek bir kavramdır. Kavramın kapsam ve içeriği üzerinde pek çok farklı düşünce olsa da bu alanda verilen eserler her geçen gün artmaktadır. Türk edebiyatında, Tanzimat döneminden sonra ciddi bir şekilde ele alınmaya başlanan ve Cumhuriyet döneminde ivme kazanan çocuk edebiyatına pek çok şair ve yazarımız katkıda bulunmuştur. Toplumcu şiirimizin önemli temsilcilerinden olan şair, yazar ve gazeteci Refik Durbaş da çocuk edebiyatımıza katkıda bulunan şairlerimiz arasındadır. Şairin toplumcu şiir çizgisinde yazdığı şiirlerinde işçi sınıfının zorlu yaşam koşulları, yoksulluk, sömürü gibi toplumsal sorunlara eğildiği görülür fakat çocuklar için yazdığı eserlerin büyük bir çoğunluğunda bu tutumu sergilemez ve çocuk için ideal dünyanın kapılarını aralar. Şairin çocuklar için kaleme aldığı on iki şiir kitabı ve üç öykü kitabı vardır. Bu eserlerin yalnızca ikisinde çalışan ve eğitim hakkından yoksun kalan çocukların yaşadığı zorluklara yoğun bir şekilde yer verir, diğer on üç çalışmada ise çalışan çocuk portreleri ile çok nadir karşılaşılır. Sanatçının çocuklar için yazdığı kitapların büyük bir çoğunluğu sosyal mesaj verme yahut eğitme amacı taşımazlar. Anlatılan çocuklar mutlu ve aileleri tarafından tüm gereksinimleri karşılanmış çocuklardır. Bu şiir ve öykülerde tabiat, aile sevgisi ve çocuğun günlük aktiviteleri temel konulardır. Şairin ayrıca çocuklar için hazırladığı çok sayıda derleme ve sadeleştirme çalışması mevcuttur. Bu derleme ve sadeleştirme çalışmaları da edebiyatımız için önemli birer eser olmakla beraber şair Türk çocuk edebiyatına esas katkıyı kendi özgün eserleri olan on beş çocuk kitabıyla sağlamıştır.

Abstract
The very notion of children’s literature is a novel idea whose development is in progress both in Turkish and world literature. In addition to the ongoing conflicts and conversations on the scope and content of children’s literatüre, many pieces are getting written increasingly. Many poets and writers of Turkish literature have proactively contributed to this genre whose progress accelerated during the Tanzimat (Ottoman Reorganization) period and -especialy- in the Republican period. A proponent of Socialist wave in Turkish poetry, Refik Durbas is one of the many poets who wrote pieces of children’s literature. In liaison with the Socialist poetry, Durbas leaned on, in terms of content of his poetry, the hardships that working class faced and depression, economically wise, that imperialism created; wheras, in his poems for children, these topics are not the norm, instead, he creates an ideal world for the children. He has produced a total of twelve poetry and three story books for chidren. Only in two of this pieces, he mentioned the hardships that children, whose education rights are violated, faced in line with his socialist leaning. In the other thirteen pieces, it is very rare to encounter children portraits that symbolize the working class. Most of his pieces on children’s literature are not produced with the aim of conveying an overarching message that carries a social value. The children in his stories are happy and fulfilled by means of their needs by their families. Love for the nature, family and Daily activities of a child are the main topics of his works. Besides, for children, he prepared many works of compilation and simplification which are also of paramount importance in Turkish literature but Refik Durbas’s main contribution to Turkish children’s literature is the fifteen works of literature that he wrote.
