Abstract
Bu araştırmanın konusu toplumsal yaşamda ve özelikle sanat eserlerinde çıplaklık konusunun toplumsal değerler ve yargılarla çatışmasının incelenmesidir. Dünyadaki pek çok kültürde giyinmek ve örtünmek tarihsel süreçte gelişen din, inanç ve geleneklere dayanır. Çıplaklık da özelikle kamusal alanlarda çıplak bedenin teşhiri bunlara bağlı olarak hoş karşılanmaz. Sanat eğitiminde ve sanat eserlerinde çıplaklık özel bir çalışma alanı olarak kabul edilir. Kamusal alanlarda teşhir edilmedikçe de kolay kolay probleme yol açmazlar. Batı dünyasında, özelikle Roma İmparatorluğunun etki alanında kalmış pek çok antik şehirde, çıplak heykellerin kamusal alanlarda anıtsal bir yapı olarak yer alması insanların bunu kabullenmesinde önemli bir kültürel değer olmuştur. Ancak özelikle İslam dünyasında dini kuralar gereği bu hiçbir zaman hoş karşılanmamıştır. Günümüzde özgürlük ve laiklik gibi politik söylemlere rağmen hala Türk ve İslam dünyası sanat eserleri yoluyla da olsa çıplaklığın teşhirinden rahatsızlık duymaktadır. Bu derleme çalışması ile sanat tarihinde çıplaklığın gelişimi ve toplumsal etkileri araştırılmaktadır. Yöntem olarak literatür taraması ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır.

Abstract
The subject of this research is to examine the conflict of nudity with social values and judgments in social life and especially in works of art. In many cultures around the world, dressing and covering are based on religions, beliefs and traditions that have developed in the historical process. Nudity, especially in public places, is not welcomed as a result of the display of the naked body. Nudity in art education and works of art is considered a special field of study. They do not easily cause problems unless they are displayed in public areas. In the Western world, especially in many ancient cities that were under the influence of the Roman Empire, the presence of nude statues as a monumental structure in public spaces has been an important cultural value for people to accept this. However, this was never welcomed, especially in the Islamic world, due to religious rules. Today, despite political discourses such as freedom and secularism, the Turkish and Islamic world still feel uncomfortable with the exposure of nudity, even though works of art. This study investigates the development of nudity and its social effects in the history of art. The method will be based on the literature review in its simplest form.
