Abstract
Aslı Der’e ait Defne’yi Beklerken adlı kitap gerçekçi gençlik edebiyatı içerisinde yer alan bir gençlik romanıdır. Bu bağlamda roman aile içi iletişimsizlik, ergenlerin yaşadığı sorunlar, taciz ve akran zorbalığı gibi konuları işleyen bir yapıttır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Defne’yi Beklerken adlı yapıtı konu, ileti, karakterler, dil ve anlatım ile resim ögeleri açısından incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma nesnesi adı geçen romandır. Yapılan alanyazın taramasıyla Aslı Der’in yazınsal yönü ve sorun odaklı çocuk edebiyatı ile gençlik edebiyatı terimlerine yönelik bilgilere ulaşılmıştır. İnceleme sonucunda romanın genç okurların yaşam deneyimlerini sorun odaklı bir tavırla işleyen, gençlik edebiyatının nitelikli örneklerinden biri olduğu bulgulanmıştır.

Abstract
The novel titled "Defne'yi Beklerken" by Aslı Der is a realistic youth novel that finds its place within the realm of youth literature. In this context, the novel is a work that addresses issues such as family communication problems, the challenges faced by teenagers, harassment, and peer bullying. The purpose of this study is to analyze the work "Defne'yi Beklerken" in terms of its subject, message, characters, language, and narrative, as well as visual elements. In line with this objective, document analysis, a qualitative research method, has been used in the study. Defne’yi Beklerken is the subject of the analysis. Through a review of the literature, information has been gathered regarding Aslı Der's literary style and her contributions to problem-oriented children's and youth literature. The findings of the analysis indicate that the novel is one of the distinguished examples of youth literature, addressing the life experiences of young readers from a problem-oriented perspective.
