This study aims to examine how the Iran–Israel war is framed in The Washington Post, The Tehran Times, and The Jerusalem Post—newspapers published in the United States, Iran, and Israel, respectively—and to identify the discursive practices and ideological strategies through which these news reports are constructed. Within the scope of the study, a total of 15 news articles published in the aforementioned newspapers between February 28, 2026, and March 19, 2026, and directly related to the conflict were analyzed. The theoretical framework of the study consists of concepts and theories related to framing theory, critical discourse, and ideology. Norman Fairclough’s three-dimensional discourse model was adopted as the methodology; news texts were analyzed at the textual, discursive practice, and socio-political context levels. Upon examining the findings, it was determined that all three newspapers analyzed presented the war using different discourse strategies in line with their own political and ideological positions. While military interventions are rationalized in The Washington Post through technical and strategic language, The Tehran Times emphasizes resistance and victimhood using ideological and emotional rhetoric. In The Jerusalem Post, however, a security-focused discourse prevails, linking Iran to threats and “terrorism.” In conclusion, the study reveals that the media reconstructs reality as an ideological actor and a weapon for the warring parties in international conflicts.
