Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı; devlet, özel ilköğretim okulları ve dershane öğretmenlerinin ve velilerin Seviye Belirleme Sınavı’na ilişkin algıları ve bunlara ilişkin algılamaların çeşitli bağımsız değişkenlere göre farklılaşma durumu belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın evrenini 2009-2010 eğitim-öğretim yılında Çanakkale ilindeki resmi ve özel ilköğretim okullarında ve dershanelerde çalışan öğretmenler ile SBS’ye girecek 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin velileri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen SBS’ye yönelik öğretmen ve veli algıları anketi ve demografik bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Anket, 244 öğretmene ve 225 veliye uygulanmıştır. Verilerin istatistiksel çözümlenmesi, SPSS paket programından yararlanılarak yapılmış, anlamlılık testlerinde p=0.05 düzeyi esas alınmıştır. Toplanan verilere göre öğretmenlerin branşlarına, eğitim düzeylerine, velilerin ise; cinsiyet, çalışma durumuna, eğitim düzeyine, mesleğine, aylık gelirine ve öğrencilerin eğitim gördüğü kurumunun türüne göre farklılıklar bulunmakta olup; öğretmenlerin ve velilerin eğitim düzeyinin arttıkça SBS’ye yönelik algılarınında yükseldiği bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Çocuğu özel ilköğretim okuluna giden velilerin devlet ilköğretim okula gidenlere göre SBS’ye yönelik daha olumlu algılara sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract
The aim of this research; state, private primary schools and private training center techers’ and parents’ perceptions regarding to Placement Exam (SBS) and the differentiation status according to various independent variables of related perceptions have been tried to determine. The teachers working in public and private primary schools and in private training centers and the parents whose children will take SBS exam in Çanakkale province in 2009-2010 academic year form the universe of the study. Placement Exam-oriented teachers’ and parents’ perceptions questionnaire and demographic information form which developed by the researcher have been used in this study. The questionnaire has been applied to totally 244 teachers and 225 parents. The analysis of the collected data has been done by using SPSS package program, p=0.05 level has been counted in the significance tests among the groups. According to data obtained, differences have been found with regard to teachers’ branches, education levels and parents’ gender, working status and education level, mothers’ occupation, family’s monthly income and the type of the school in which the student studies and In general It has been found that the more teachers’ and parents’ level of education is, the more their perceptions on SBS are. Additionally, It has been identified that the private school students’ parents have a higher mean compared to those of state school students’ parents.
