Abstract
Yolcu Nereye Gidiyorsun romanında; Osmanlının son dönemlerindeki yanlış batılılaşma algısı ile beraber siyasal ve toplumsal şartları içerisinde sanayileşmenin ve şehirleşmenin de getirdiği bireyin kendisine ve topluma yabancılaşmasıyla birlikte ortaya çıkan bir değerler çatışması anlatılır. Toplumun kültürel değerlerinin benimsenip benimsenmemesi veya hafife alınması bağlamında görülen bir toplumsal çatışma ve bu çatışmanın beslediği huzursuzluk bu romanda kendini göstermektedir. Bu huzursuzluk, yazarın kahramanları ile toplumun diğer fertleri ve onların değerleriyle olan ilişkisini de yeniden düşündürtmeye yöneltmektedir. Bu bildiride, 1900’lü yılların siyasal çalkantısında geçen, Osmanlı toplum yapısında meydana gelen çatışmaları, toplumsal değerlerle ilişkisi bakımından değerlendirilecektir. Ayrıca romandan yola çıkarak, yanlış batılılaşma sonucu halktan kopan bazı kesimlerin halkçı çizgiden gittikçe yalnızlıklarla, bunaltılar la karmaşıklaşan, beraberinde toplumun değer yargılarıyla yabancılaşmaya, kopuş ve ayrışmaya varan süreç ele alınarak çatışma unsurları ile bunları besleyen dinamikler ve sebepleri üzerinde durulacaktır.

Abstract
The novel of "Where are you going, you passenger" tells about the misunderstanding of westernalization in the late period of Ottoman Empire and also tells about conflicts of values as a result of industrialization and urbanization together with political and social changes. Whether the society adopted the cultural values, a social conflict as a result of underestimating these cultural values, and social unrest fed by the social conflict are told in the novel. This unrest prompts the hero of the writer to be contrary to the other members of the society as well as the relation with their values. This study assessed the conflicts that were experienced by the Ottoman empire in 1900s from the aspect of social values. Besides, the present study investigated why those who misunderstood westernalization at the time alienated themselves from a democrat point, and the reasons of alienation.
