Abstract
1853’ten başlanarak Kırım Savaş’ı boyunca yazılan ve Ceride-i Havâdis’te yayımlanan şiirlerin 1855 yılında bir araya getirilmesiyle oluşturulan Şehnâme-i Osmânî, savaşın değişik yönleriyle ele alınıp aktardığından tarihi bir belge niteliğindedir ve aynı zamanda millet ve vatan duygusunu şiirde ilk kez ele alınmış olması bakımından oldukça önemlidir. Özellikle 105 beyitlik “Vatan Kasîdesi”, vatan konusunda yazılmış ve vatan sevgisini işleyen ilk şiirdir. Bu yönüyle Yûsuf Hâlis’i “Namık Kemal’den önce vatan düşüncesini şiire taşıyan ilk şâir” olarak tanımlamak ve bir abide olarak kabul etmek gerekir. Ancak bu kadar önemli bir şâir ve eseri, maalesef gölgede kalmış ve hak ettiği değer, kendisine verilememiştir. Yûsuf Hâlis, çok yönlü bir şâir olmakla beraber, sonradan yetişen Namık Kemal gibi büyük şâirlerin gölgesinde kalması ve ikinci derece bir şâir olması, onun tanınmasına engel olmuştur. Bu çalışmamızda Yûsuf Hâlis Efendi’nin hayatı ve eserleri hakkında bilgi verip Şehnâme-i Osmânî adlı eserini tanıtacağız. Çalışmanın sonunda da eserin transkripsiyonu metnini vereceğiz.

Abstract
Şehnâme-i Osmânî was founded in 1855, which was written during the Crimean War and published in Ceride-i Havâdis starting from 1853. In the work, it is a historical document as it deals with the different aspects of the war. And at the same time, the sense of nation and homeland is very important for the first time in poetry. In particular, “Vatan Qasidesi” with 105 couplets is the first poem written about the homeland and the love of the homeland. In this respect, it is necessary to define Yûsuf Hâlis as “the first poet discussing the thought of homeland in poetry before Namık Kemal” and regarded as a monumental figure. Nevertheless, such an important poet and his work, unfortunately, were kept in the background and wasn’t valued as it deserved. On top of being a versatile poet, Yûsuf Hâlis was overshadowed by the celebrated poets like Namık Kemal and being a second-degree poet adversely affected his publicity. In this study, Information about the life and works of Yûsuf Hâlis Efendi is given and the work titled Şehnâme-i Osmânî is introduced. At the end of the study, the transcription text of the work is provided.
