RESEARCH OF 2006 AND 2014 UNESCO PERIODIC REPORT ON GOREME AND CAPPADOCIA ROCK SITE UNESCO’ NUN GÖREME VE KAPADOKYA KAYALIK SİT ALANI HAKKINDAKİ 2006 VE 2014 PERİYODİK RAPORLARININ İNCELENMESİ
UNESCO, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization was founded in 1946 in order to protecting cultural heritage and rebuilding education systems and mission of that organization was defined as building the peace in the mind of humanity through education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, knowledge and communication. Turkey upheld the convention of association of UNESCO in 1946. The Member States of UNESCO adopted the ‘Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage’ in 1972. The main purpose of this convention is the recognition, preservation and presentation of the natural and cultural heritage that has reached from the past to the present and its transfer to future generations. Goreme and Cappadocia Rock Site was accepted by UNESCO as cultural and natural heritage site in 1985. In this sense, in this study, the UNESCO 2006 and 2014 Periodic Reports published on Goreme and Cappadocia Rock Site were examined.
