Abu Muhammad Abdullah ibn al-Muqaffa al-Dadavaih, who was born in the beginning of the second century (approximately 102/724), is recognized as an Iranian intelligent, a translator, a writer and a clerk in Abbasids. He was a bureaucrat in various centers, mainly in Basra, and became Muslim in recent years when he was killed on 142/759. Ibn al-Mukaffa brought Arab, Persian, Greek and Indian cultures together in his writings and presented the political and cultural achievements of his period to the service of the Abbasids. In addition to the translations affecting Islamic literature such as Kalila and Dimna, Siyar al-muluk and Kitab al-ayin, he has works such as al-Adab al-kebir, al-Adab al-saghir, Risala al-sahaba.
