Abstract

In the period of Fatih Sultan Mehmed, the name was taken from a man named Kuzgun Baba who settled here. Mostly where the Greeks and Jews lived, since the beginning of the XVIII. century, Armenians have also settled in there. In XIX. century, which was built here by Uryanizadeler of the mosque, became a popular area for Muslims. The Jews in the Ottoman state, always attached importance to protecting their traditions and beliefs. They have been active in many professions, especially in Trade. Jews living in the Ottoman State have been active in every branch of trade, especially in fields such as alchemy, sarcasm, pharmacy, medicine and herbalist. According to population book of row number : 00350 history of 1840/1841 demegrophic data of Jewish population in Kuzguncuk district in Istanbul, and data about occupational groups will be put forward and an evaluation will be made on these data
